Healing from Cancer AFTER Treatment

What happens when we find ourselves or a loved one in the midst of a healing journey? What is the best support after cancer treatment, to be more energized, and in-control of your own wellness plan? Many find they are at a loss as to where to turn next. Here are some simple strategies for overall healthy living and improved wellness. One can include more nourishing foods such as organic fresh vegetables, berries, pineapple, green apples, and fresh-pressed juices. Fresh-pressed vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are readily absorbed and reach down to a cellular level, immediately nourishing and enhancing the growth of healthy cells. Cruciferous vegetables, asparagus, garlic and onions increase glutathione in the body, a potent anti-carcinogen. Stress, diet, infection, toxins, and medications deplete normal glutathione reserves. Consider adding probiotics to optimize your gut flora, reducing inflammation and strengthening your immune system. Researchers suggest that probiotics might slow cancer progression and improve the response to chemotherapy. Probiotics can be found in certain whole foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, any fermented foods, and whole-food supplementation. Gentle detox methods need not be scary. Deep Breathing cleanses stale air from the lungs. Dry skin brushing assists the lymphatic system to remove toxins from the body, as well as jumping on a mini trampoline for 10 minutes a day. Encouraging a healing response through sweating is a benefit of using an infrared sauna for 30 minutes, a few times a week. Top 10 Cancer Prevention Strategies

Keep it Simple! 1. Food Preparation – a plant based diet made up of mostly organic fresh vegetables and fresh-pressed juices, whole grains, seeds, nuts and fruit (berries, pineapple, and green apples best) helps to put the body into an alkaline environment. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are readily absorbed and reach down to a cellular level, immediately nourishing and enhancing the growth of healthy cells. Vital enzymes in all food (especially fresh vegetables) are destroyed at temperatures of 115 degrees F and above. Maintain a high ratio of raw, plant based foods for optimal healing. 2. Sugar Consumption – Sugar feeds cancer. Cancer cells have an abnormally high amount of insulin receptors, 6 to 13 times higher than a healthy cell. By cutting off sugar it cuts off an important food supply to the damaged cells. Avoid all sugars and sugar substitutes. 3. Protein and Fat – Cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment. A meat-based diet is very acidic. Eating small amounts of fish or chicken once in awhile is ok. Avocados, Extra Virgin Olive oil, flax seed oil, and coconut oil provide good quality fats. 4. Reduce Stress – Stress weakens your immune system. The CDC states that 85 percent of disease is driven by emotional factors. It is likely that stress and unresolved emotional issues may be more important than the physical ones, so make sure this is addressed. Reiki, deep breathing exercises, meditation, a gratitude practice and walks in nature are ways to manage your stress and keep your immune system in optimal shape. 5. Add Probiotics – Optimizing your gut flora...

Detoxing to Support Healing after Cancer Treatment

There are several methods of gently detoxing the body. I will list several here to get you started. It is beneficial to begin with what’s comfortable, based on your level of dis-ease and comfort/ discomfort. Too many toxins leaving your body all at once may cause flu-like symptoms, so be gentle with yourself. Remember, too much sugar (any form), heavy protein (in the form of meat) or fat (unhealthy options) can and does paralyze the immune system. Intermittent Fasting – The best detoxification period is from 4 am to 12 noon. This is the optimal time for detoxification. If you can abstain from eating during that time period, your body will detox on its own. Anything damaged will begin to heal. No eating, but drink plenty of filtered water. [Many scientific studies have been done on the benefits of extended fasting, but this should be done under supervision. Three days of water fasting promotes regeneration of cells and stem cell growth. Ten days of water fasting has proven to reverse the damaging effects of illness and dis-ease. Again, consult a practitioner versed in this therapy, with permission from your medical practitioner first.] Perspiration – helps the body move waste out of the lymphatic system. Exercise to sweat for at least ten minutes a day, avoiding hard exercise that may stress the body. Walking can help with elimination, and a Rebounder (mini-trampoline) activates the lymphatic system to move toxins out. The benefits of using an infrared sauna for 30 minutes are that the cancer cells self-destruct as body temperatures reach 110 degrees F and are naturally expelled from the body. ...

Items for Supporting Healing after Cancer Treatment

Fresh-pressed vegetable juice Daily fresh-pressed juice is highly beneficial. A masticating juicer is recommended like Omega or Norwalk. The Gerson Therapy recommends up to 13 glasses per day (8 oz, one per hour) of a mostly carrot juice combination in their treatment regime. Fresh-pressed juice from raw foods (never frozen) provides the easiest and most effective way to take in the nutrients and enzymes from nearly 15 pounds of produce every day, in a manner that is easy to digest, absorbed by the body, and highly alkaline forming. Oxygenation is usually more than doubled by this practice, as oxygen deficiency in the blood contributes too many degenerative diseases. Fresh-pressed juice must be consumed immediately, as the healing enzymes die off when the juice hits the air. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera helps promote a healthy digestive system, strengthens the immune system, reduces toxins in the body, supports joint function, and improves bio-availability (absorption) of supplements, especially Vitamin C and B-12. Choose the inner part (fillet) of the aloe plant leaf for internal use. Aloe is excellent for treating the side effects of radiation (orally and topically). Properties in aloe increase circulation to tiny blood vessels and kill bacteria, an aide in wound healing, and for any damaged skin. Probiotics Probiotics help with immune function, digestion, and balancing harmful bacteria, especially important after a round of antibiotics or a cancer treatment, as the harmful bacteria in the gut will proliferate. Probiotics can be found in certain whole foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and any fermented foods. However, it is recommended to find a good Probiotic supplement with up to 10 billion...
